Shiver

The familiar feels different after dark.

At first, it’s just your home with the lights out. Then things begin to change. Rooms feel wrong. Familiar paths lead somewhere unexpected. Something moves in the darkness.

As the world grows more bizarre, you realise you’re having a nightmare.

But you can’t seem to wake up.

Shiver is a top-down 2D horror game where survival means knowing when to move, when to hide, and how to use what little you have. Explore shifting homes and shadowy forests, gather crystals, and search for a way out while creatures stalk your path.

Your flashlight helps you see—but its battery won’t last forever. Crouch beneath cover, crawl past danger, and watch your footsteps. Each enemy behaves differently, and running won’t always save you.

• Stay hidden: walk, sprint, crouch, crawl, and hide from danger.
• Use the light: manage your flashlight and focus its beam to repel certain threats.
• Create distractions: use fireworks, music boxes, and catnip to survive encounters.
• Find a way forward: collect keys and crystals as familiar places become increasingly strange.

Can you survive until dawn—or will the nightmare keep you?

Solo project. Due to time limitations I had to rush the last levels, better level design, with more playing around with illusions and hallucinations, changing territories and so on was intended.
